...ANIMAL FUR in CIBELES
Two ecologists have protest in the runway of the Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week while Roberto Torretta was presenting his collection for the next autumn - winter, in protest for the utilization of natural fur in the confection of the clothes.
The activists of Animal Equality, the coordinator is Javier Moreno, were detained after interrupting the parade for IFEMA's safety services who extracted them of the enclosure.
Carrying small placards where you couldread " FUR. Murder ", two interruptions of the show, one at the begining and the other one in half of the parade, went out to the catwalk where the models were stopping placed opposite to the cameras of television and of the photographers in search of media protagonism.
Anyway, it turns out contradictory that the protest has been effected in a show where there was practical non-presence of natural fur.

...AIDS "SIX SCENTS" BY DESIGNERS AGAINST AIDS
Six of the world's most up and coming fashion designers are to put their fame to good use this month. The new darlings of the fashion world are all set to launch a collaborative scent project which aims to raise awareness and funds for the charity Designers Against AIDS. The project is called Six Scents and the first series will feature the fragrances of Gareth Pugh, Jeremy Scott, Alexandre Herchcovitch, Bernhard Wilhelm, Cosmic Wonder Light Source and Preen.
In order to ensure the scents remain a sense of exclusivity, they will be strictly limited edition. Only 2000 of each fragrance will be produced and a percentage of the price will go directly to the charity. Designers Against Aids focuses it's help on young people in industrialised countries.
Personally I can't wait to smell the perfumes. Gareth Pugh told Vogue that his scent was about opposites. "It's a struggle between lightness and darkness," the designer affirmed. His perfume includes notes of dill, nutmeg, black tea and white amber. Who'd have though good works could smell so sweet?

One of the best and most wearable collections by the designers pieces was held together using staples, to signify their further protest of of fashion.
We can just say...
...BREAST CANCER
FASHION TARGETS BREAST CANCER (FTBC) began in 1994 as the U.S. fashion industry's response to breast cancer - a widely recognized effort that raises public awareness and funds to support breast cancer research, education, screening and patient care. Inspired by Nina Hyde, The Washington Post columnist who died of breast cancer, the campaign became an ongoing initiative of the CFDA Foundations - the philanthropic division of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), which represents over 300 of America's leading fashion designers. Since its launch, Fashion Targets Breast Cancer has become the worldwide fashion community's singular and most successful response to breast cancer - an issue of vital importance to its primary consumers: women. The campaign message is ‘Whatever your reason, wear one.’ Taking this concept one step further, each celebrity has agreed to send themselves up by featuring their own spoof reason as a strap line on their ad in why they will be wearing one of this years T-shirts.
ALEX PERRY.Celebrities were out in full force for the show which took place in Sydney's Martin Place , Australia. Tahyna Tozzi, Elyse Taylor, Kate Waterhouse, Tara Moss, Anneliese Seubert, Zoe Naylor, Sara Groen and Erin McNaught all donned Perry's most beautiful creations and took to the catwalk to show their support for the fight against breast cancer.
The front row was studded with celebrities. The Fashion Targets Breast Cancer campaign has raised over $2.4 million for breast cancer research particularly focussed on young women aged 25-39 since 1997 with all funds going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Alex Perry, one of Australia's leading designers hand-picked several key pieces from his collection over the last few years for the show and dressed some of Australia's most beautiful and talented celebrities in honour of the occasion

...FUR by PETA
There’s nothing glamorous about killing animals for their fur. Animals trapped for their fur are strangled, beaten, crushed or drowned. Animals on fur farms spend their entire lives in cramped, filthy wire cages and are killed by suffocation, neck breaking, poisoning or genital electrocution. Sometimes these methods only stun the animals, who often “wake up” while they’re being skinned. Listen to these celeb´s....
This beautiful, beautiful e-card starring Christina Applegate it’s been all over the blogosphere already. The Samantha Who? star posed nude to help remind people to stay away from fur and fur-trim during the holiday season. Check it out—it´s gorgeous!!

Eva doesn't mind making a few waves either, especially when it comes to helping animals. We love Eva for her staunch anti-fur stance. Not only is she talented and beautiful, she also put her bum on the line (literally!) for fur-bearing animals when she posed naked in our "I´d rather go naket than wear fur" ad that made a huge media splash .
Charlotte Ross, who plays unshakable Detective Connie McDowell on the celebrated series, is the latest in a long line of famous faces—and bodies—to bare it all for animals.Ross loses her uniform for PETA’s "Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" series, replacing her badge with one, carefully positioned, white rabbit. The two-time Emmy-nominated actor creates an arresting image with an enticing message: "I’d rather show my buns than wear fur." The full-page ad, shot by photographer Robert Sebree in L.A. last month, was published in Gear magazine.
From her lyrics to her life, Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson is known for being strong, sexy, and not afraid to speak her mind. That's why the gorgeous Scottish-born rocker agreed to step in front of the camera to show consumers what the fashion industry doesn't want you to see: the bloody, lifeless bodies of animals who were drowned, beaten to death, gassed, electrocuted, or even skinned alive for their fur. Holding the bloody body of a skinned "fox," Shirley tells fur-wearers, "Here's the rest of your fur coat," in PETA's new hard-hitting anti-fur ad.
Says Shirley, "When PETA approached me about this particular campaign, I was really honored to be asked, and I felt like I had a chance to add my voice to the dissent against the way animals can be treated all over the world by all persons."

In addition to being the star of the hit reality series Miami Inc.,Ami James tagline "Ink, Not Mink"—as part of PETA's anti-fur campaign.
Creating amazing art and tattoos isn't the only thing that Ami knows a thing or two about. He also knows about the realities of the fur industry and knows he would never support an industry that tortures and kills animals in the name of fashion.

...AIDS by H&M
Is not the first and wont be the last time a fashion brand uses celebrities, musicians, actors...for their campaigne, but this one is special, because it is about fighting agains aids and trying to make sense on the youth about danger. All the designs are done by the artists such as Chicks on Speed, Good Charlotte, Henrik Vibskov, Jade Jagger, Catherine Hamnett, My Chemical Romance, Rufus Wainwright, Scissor Sisters, The Cardigans, Tiga, Timbaland y Ziggy Marley for the cause. The idea for the "Fashion against Aids" collection came from the non-profit organisation Designers Against Aids
What we liked the most about this campaigne was that you can also record your own message about the issue and upload it to their video wall.
